Eco Fence

Fences generally either keep things in or out. This has a negative impact on the natural movement of animals.
The concept here, is to enable animals endemic to the area of Kommetjie and its surrounding undulating coastal dune thicket to be unaffected by the construction of this tented camp.

Small “fox-hole boxes” where constructed at every 2.5 meters along a 450 meter electrified wooden fence, made of alien timber.

Because this tented camp was constructed literally next to an urban area, with dogs and dog walkers, it has had the unintended benefit of creating a safe haven for smaller animals and birds (like Franklin, Otter, Mongoose) and allows the camp to “breath”.
