… who we are

Touching the Earth Lightly is run by two South African’s - Stephen Lamb and Grabeth Nduli and is based in Cape Town, South African Stephen and Grabeth develop joint ventures depending on the project and the skills required. This team is able to travel internationally and at short notice and are thus well positioned for quick and efficient project delivery.



More about Stephen

Stephen Lamb has over fourteen years of experience working in and with conservation bodies, NGO’s and social development groups. Stephen has a passion for working with people and the natural environment in rural and developing countries.
For the last eight and a half years he has worked outdoors with disadvantaged communities developing synergies between the needs of the natural and built environment with a focus on job creation, poverty alleviation, biodiversity conservation and sustainable energy sources.
An outdoors man at heart, Stephen enjoys applying his mind to simple and creative problem solving that further global conservation issues.
Stephen has been recognized for his achievements in this regard and has received several awards for his achievements in this field. Stephen is also passionate about photography, surfing and hiking.



More about Grabeth

Grabeth Nduna was born in Southwell farm, a rural area of the Eastern Cape where the Xhosa culture is respected and practiced.
After High School graduation, Grabeth successfully completed a year’s training at the Boland College and graduated as a Qualified Tour/Trail guide. In addition Grabeth successfully studied Human Resources Management N5 at Russell Road College in Port Elizabeth in the year 2000.
Since then he has worked for leading conservation agencies as a qualified and accredited Lead Mountaineering Guide while initiating various community development projects in his spare time.
He was a founding member and coordinator of the Sekusile Skills Development Project established in 2003. Project objectives are to provide skills training and create jobs for the young people in Westlake and other disadvantaged communities. The initiative aims to inspire and motivate youth in the area, as South Africa is faced with a crisis of young people dropping out of school in a early age.
In 2005 Grabeth was appointed Manager of Ithemba Labantu Construction Cc, a company formed by Grabeth and his colleagues.
Grabeth has excellent leadership and communication skills which he has proven in his professional career and community development work.
His current focus and passion is to see the roll-out of affordable renewable energy systems in the disadvantaged communities of Southern Africa. Grabeth is a keen hiker, soccer player, guitar player and family man. Grabeth currently lives in Cape Town with his wife and one child.
